I am not subscribed to an HD channel lineup through my cable provider (Comcast), so as of yet I am not taking full advantage of my HD TV's capability. Having said that, the channels I am watching are looking quite bizarre to me. Some channels/programs that I watch are fine (such as those that are showing the Olympics). Others, however, look quite different.
The best way I can describe what I'm seeing is to compare it to this:
When you watch a 'behind-the-scenes' shooting of a movie, or a TV show....it looks quite different watching the scene being shot as it does when you see the final result being broadcast. I don't know if it's the filter they use on the different camera's or what, but it's quite clear there is a different clarity from the camera that is showing us the behind the scenes shoots as to the one that is actually shooting the scene.
Most of the channels I see now look as though I'm watching it through a video camera that is shooting behind the scenes.....I noticed it last night while watching a bit of 'Revenge Of The Nerds II', and then again this morning while watching an episode of 'The Sopranos' on A&E. Neither show looked quite right. I hope this makes sense, and that there is a way to fix this (aside from the obvious of upgrading to HD channels...but still, even doing that won't fix the standard definition digital channels, and I'll still be seeing the same type of strange picture quality).
