Here are some basic steps to try first:
1. Make sure you completely exit and restart Origin before attempting to login again. If you have "Remember me" enabled or only access the Origin client via SSO (such as through Battlelog) please manually retype your OriginID and password.
2. Uninstall Origin completely, navigate to C:\ProgramData\Origin. If you have several games installed, make a copy of the Download Cache to your desktop. Delete any other files in that directory.
--- a. reboot and download the latest here: origin.com/download.
--- b. Install a fresh version of 9.0.
--- c. If you backed up your Download Cache, move it back into C:\ProgramData\Origin
Are you able to login now?
3. Rebooting the PC. This sounds silly to more savvy users but it has fixed some folks.
4. For users running ESET/NOD32 Security software. Please follow the workaround provided by VendettaREA
First of all go to your advanced settings

Go to your "Protocol fitlering\Excluded Applications"

Now select the Origin.exe and the OriginService.exe
